- A team of physicians, nurses and support staff are traveling to Haiti on April 18, 2010. Our purpose is to establish a permanent clinic there. Two Haitian physicians and two nurses will be permanently employed with teams of medical professionals from west Georgia and surrounding areas traveling to Haiti in the coming months to assist them. The area the clinic will be serving has 10,000 residents living in tents that have no access to medical care. Read about our trip and check back often for updates.

Getting Ready
We were in charge of picking up donations from Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton yesterday afternoon and wow… to my shock and surprise they had a huge box full of supplies and 30 cases of IV fluids! Weighing in at 1100 lbs – this we had not counted on but could not refuse. I returned home with my pick-up truck and they great folks at Materials Management helped me get it loaded. All team members were alerted and several brought extra bags to pack. All ten of us added a third bag to our check-on luggage and we’re taking most of it down this trip. The rest will go to Haiti in a large container to be shipped in a month.
